Chef Colleen Clawson's first taste of the restaurant life came at the age of 14 when she woke up early every morning to ride her bike to work because it was "time to make the donuts" for Dunkin Donuts.  Within a few years she moved on to waiting tables elsewhere, but it was not until she started working at Frazer's when she learned the basics of a kitchen.

Colleen then moved on to Riddles in the Loop and not only had the opportunity to fine tune her cooking skills, but to also develop her passion of food responsibility by meeting the source of food - the farmers.  After a few more jobs at Kitchen K,  Venice Cafe and Yamanja Brasil, Colleen found herself at our sister restaurant Remy's Kitchen & Wine Bar working under Executive Chef Lisa Slay and Executive Sous Chef Rachel Moeller for several years. After having a baby, she decided to spend more time at home, but when it was time to get back to work full time, Colleen asked good friend Lisa Slay for advice.  She was offered a job at Big Sky Café instead.

We're happy to have Colleen back in the "family", especially because of her dedication to improving the quality of the menu without compromising value.
