When we tell you we are locally sourced, naturally raised, that means that 99.44% of our beef, chicken, pork, eggs, bread and staff are local. But that does not take into account the made from scratch items, the sustainable seafood we source, the local soft drinks, teas and beers we offer, or the seasonal produce we use.

To do so, we carefully choose partners that provide the freshest options for a clean eating dining experience. When you bring your friends and family together for a celebration or an intimate dinner, you don’t have to worry about what we are bringing to your table. In addition, we not only take pride in what we serve you but how we serve it. We’re proud of our high quality hospitality experience that allows us to build a one-on-one relationship with you. We choose to treat you like our family, while you are with yours.

We also take pride in operating a responsible business.  By belonging and caring for our surrounding communities, we choose to recycle, compost, and reuse. Globally, we support water projects in developing nations with charity:water.

We are revitalized American comfort food, locally sourced and naturally raised. And we 100% believe in it.

LOCAL AND SUSTAINABLE
We believe it is our responsibility to source the best possible options when creating and preparing a menu.  That includes having close relationships with partners who provide sustainable seafood and seasonable, local produce.

100%

...of our chicken is from Buttonwood Farm | ...of our eggs are cage free from local farms | ...our bread comes from Breadsmith | ...of our beef is grass-fed & naturally raised | ... of our seafood is sustainable

Other partners include:
Farmstead Foods - Benton, IL
Midwest Pasta - St. Louis, MO
Ozark Forest Mushrooms - Big Springs, MO
and a very special thanks to Preston Walker of EatHereStLouis who has been a leader in bringing local foods to our tables as a broker for small Missouri and Illinois farmers.

OUR COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION
Since 1992, Big Sky Cafe continues to work hard to better ourselves, the community and the environment with the choices we make:
  • We recycle all glass, paper, cardboard, metal & plastics through Allied Waste single stream services
  • Wine corks are given to Corks ReHarvest
  • Vegetable oils are re-vitalized at Kelley Green Bio-Fuel
  • We compost all organic waste through Total Organics Recycling
  • We purchase renewable energy certificates and are platinum members of Pure Power Ameren

In addition, we hold certain charitable causes close to our heart.  Find out how we proudly match 20% of all funds donated to charitywater.org.
